Scope and Contents

The David Hughes Papers consists of photocopies of a personal log maintained by Hughes during his flight training at naval air stations in Pensacola and Jacksonville, Florida, and in San Diego, California, from April 18, 1943, to April 10, 1944. Also included are a photocopy of an additional short story written by Hughes, photographs, and copies of Washington University Magazine featuring articles concerning Hughes personal log.

Scope and Contents The Edwin T. Jaynes Papers mostly contain material from Jaynes’ time as a professor at Washington University, his research, and material from his research at other institutions. The Jack A. Kirkland Papers consists primarily of his publications and writings on the American Black family and social and economic development. In addition, the collection includes materials relating to Kirkland’s professional activities, conference materials, correspondence, teaching in the George Warren Brown School of Social Work and the Black Studies Program, and research materials.

The Washington University Centennial Papers Presented at 1876 World's Fair Collection consists of two bound volumes of autograph educational work presented at the Missouri exhibit by Washington University freshman, sophomore, and senior classes on topics including the United States Constitution, English Literature, English History, Latin, Analytical Geometry, Algebra, and Descriptive Geometry.
